The Scurry County Appraisal District appraises all real and business personal property within Scurry County.

Property taxes are allocated among the following entities:

  • Snyder Independent School District: 0.7425
  • Western Texas College: 0.2650
  • Cogdell Memorial Hospital: 0.3191

Sales Tax Breakdown

The combined sales and use tax rate in Snyder is 8.25%, which includes the 6.25% state rate and a 2% local rate. This means that for every $100 of taxable purchases, $8.25 is collected in sales tax and distributed as follows:

  • Development Corporation of Snyder: $0.38
