This alert system is one of several tools used by local Emergency Management to share critical information. You should not rely on alerts as your only source of emergency information. Always monitor severe weather conditions and continue to follow warnings and watches issued through local news outlets, the National Weather Service, and other trusted sources.
In addition to automatic National Weather Service alerts, local notifications are typically sent when an imminent threat to life or property has been confirmed.
Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) are emergency messages sent directly to your mobile phone by authorized government authorities, including the City of Snyder and the National Weather Service.
You do not need to sign up for these alerts. Most modern phones receive these alerts automatically.
WEA messages are used for imminent threats, such as:
- Severe weather warnings
- Evacuation notices
- Other life-safety emergencies
These alerts provide short, immediate instructions designed to help you take action quickly.
How to Check Your Alert Settings

- Go to Settings
- Select Notifications
- Scroll to Government Alerts
