Community Education Programs
The City of Snyder Office of Emergency Management (OEM) offers community education programs designed to help you prepare for emergencies. These programs provide practical information and hands-on training to support readiness for natural disasters, severe weather, and other emergency situations.
These programs are available to residents, businesses, schools, churches, and community organizations. By learning and practicing preparedness strategies, you can help protect yourself, your family, and those around you.

All-Hazards Preparedness Program
This program covers how to prepare for a wide range of emergencies, including severe weather, wildfires, and other potential threats. Participants learn how to build an emergency supply kit, create a basic emergency plan, and understand how to respond during different types of incidents.
Fire Extinguisher Training
This hands-on training teaches participants how to properly and safely use a fire extinguisher. The goal is to help you respond quickly and confidently during a small fire while prioritizing personal safety.
Ready, Set, Go Program
Wildfire risk is a reality in our region. This program focuses on wildfire preparedness, including how to prepare your home, plan for evacuation, and stay informed during wildfire conditions.
Home Fire Safety Program
This educational program focuses on reducing fire risks inside the home. Topics include identifying common fire hazards, safe storage of flammable materials, and the importance of working smoke alarms and other safety devices.
Disaster Preparedness for the Whole Family
This program is designed for all ages and focuses on family and household preparedness. Participants learn age-appropriate emergency skills, how to communicate during emergencies, and how families can support one another during stressful situations.
