Sex Offender Registration
The Snyder Police Department serves as the local authority for sex offender registration within Snyder city limits. Under Chapter 62 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, anyone with a qualifying offense must register as a sex offender.
- Offenders living inside Snyder city limits must register with the Snyder Police Department.
- Offenders living outside city limits must register with the Scurry County Sheriff’s Office.
- Registration is required annually, or more frequently depending on the offender’s legal obligations.
Residency Restrictions
City of Snyder enforces local residency restrictions. Registered sex offenders are prohibited from residing within 1,000 feet of a designated Child Safety Zone, which may include schools, daycare centers, playgrounds, youth centers, and similar areas.
