After two weeks of interviewing of 120 concerned citizens of Scurry County, Steve Vassallo, CECD/EDFP, owner of Global Colors of Economic Successes, led a group of 34 of the interviewees in a 3 hour retreat at the Windmill Ranch. As a result of the information compiled by Steve, the group reviewed and voted on the attached listing of Community Recommendations. In the future days and weeks, Steve will be finalizing a 5 year strategic plan for our community. It is imperative that we all come together as one community to achieve what is best for the future of the community.
The attached Community Recommendations involve a variety of opportunities for Snyder to experience community as well as economic growth. As we all know, Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will all of these changes take place overnight. Some recommendations can be implemented within the next few months, others may take the full 5 years to fully develop.
Please review all the Community Recommendations carefully, decide which of the recommendations you feel strongest about. Then, it is action time. Please email or call the City of Snyder or The Chamber of Commerce and let us know that you are willing to serve on or, better yet, chair one of the recommendation committees. "We" can not reap the benefits of change unless "we" are willing to work for it. Please stand up and be proud of "our hometown".
