RECLAIM SPARKLE CITY organizers met Monday afternoon to finalize plans for this Saturday’s RECLAIM SPARKLE CITY 37TH Street project. United Supermarket, Mason Jar Mercantile, Musslewhite Trucking, the City of Snyder, Snyder Chamber of Commerce, Snyder Beautification, Integra Care, Midwestern Vacuum, Cogdell Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Historic Scurry County Inc. and several concerned citizens have stepped forward to lead the cleanup efforts. Perry Westmoreland, City of Snyder Fire Chief, has surveyed the project area and has outlined tasks and needed equipment. Volunteers and equipment are still needed. Specifically, walk behind edgers, walk behind mowers, weed eaters, flat-blade shovels, gas & oil for equipment, safety glasses & protective equipment are being requested. Business owners and individuals are asked to call the Chamber to volunteer their time and/or needed equipment.
Those not volunteering for RECLAIM SPARKLE CITY are encouraged to clean their own properties. In support of this workday, free access to city landfill is available to anyone providing the password…. “Reclaim”.
