Be advised the Snyder Police Department had been advised of a Facebook post originating from a profile named “Ray Andres” which makes potential threats of violence toward “SHS”. We investigated the matter and made the determination that the “SHS” being referred to in the post is actually Springfield High School in Springfield, Ohio and has no relationship to Snyder High School in Texas. . There is evidence that the original Facebook post that started this incident was hoaxed, but the Police and School officials will take appropriate security measures. We appreciate everyone’s concern in the matter and continued vigilance for the safety of our children but at this point no threats have been made toward any of our local schools.
