[ARCHIVED] New Water Restrictions have been passed!

Pursuant to the request of CRMWD, the City of Snyder has approved and passed Ordinance 1026.
Restrictions regarding yard irrigation, as well as non essential water use shall apply to ALL (POTABLE) WATER CUSTOMERS OF THE CITY OF SNYDER, beginning April 1st through October 21st of each year.
It shall be a violation of this Ordinance to waste any water resources, by failing to comply to the regulations implemented within this ordinance or to blatantly disregard the regulations.
The waste of water resources shall include but are not limited to:
1. Failure to repair any leaks after water customer is notified of possible leak resulting in the monthly water consumption increasing more than 15 percent above the monthly average of that account.
2. Operating automatic sprinkler systems or yard sprinkler devices during windy conditions where distributed water is blown from the property on to the streets in large enough quantities that the water flows from the property boundaries.
3. Operating any automatic sprinkler systems or yard sprinkler devices at any time or date other than between the hours of 6:00 pm through 10:00 am. The irrigation days shall be limited to one day per week on the following schedule, odd numbered street address shall be allowed to irrigate from 6:00 pm Sunday through the following Monday until 10:00 am; the even numbered street address shall be allowed to irrigate from 6:00 pm Friday through the following Saturday until 10:00 am. The SISD, Law Enforcement Center, & Golden Terrace Apartments irrigation day will be from 6:00 pm Tuesday through the following Wednesday at 10:00am.
4. Allowing unattended open ended water hoses and unattended yard sprinklers to discharge water in quantities that cause water to flow from the property boundary more than 100 feet.
Non essential water us shall include but not limited to the following activities,
1. The washing of vehicles, sidewalks, driveways, porches, patios, buildings, windows, or similar activity resulting in the utilized water leaving the originating property boundary in a gutter, drainage structure, or freely a distance greater than 100 feet.
2. Irrigation application rates where the quantity distributed exceeds one inch of precipitation per week. The quantity estimated for a one inch distribution shall be calculated by using the gross surface area of the property multiplied by 2.5 gallons.
Water users are encouraged to follow the watering schedule set for the water customers in order to avoid the perception of non-compliance. Chronically wasting any water resources, or failing to comply with any of the above requirements shall be subject to the penalties set for a Class C misdemeanor.
The Stage One Mild water shortage conditions shall be in effect April 1st through October 21st regardless of local water reserves but the additional restrictions imposed by the CRMWD regarding yard irrigation, as well as non essential water use may be rescinded at the discretion of the CRMWD when sufficient rain events increase the storage reserves to safe levels.
