[ARCHIVED] Christmas shoot is Saturday

Fans of cowboy action shooting are invited to attend the second annual Canyon Gun Club Christmas shoot.
The shoot, which will be at the shooting range from 8 a.m. until approximately 5 p.m. Saturday. The range will beclosed to all other types of shooting during the event.
Cowboy action shooting consists of enthusiasts of weapons, clothes and styles of the Old West. The shooters dress in chaps, beaver hats and other period gear and fire either
black powder weapons or replicas of early six guns, rifles or shotguns.
Last year, there were approximately 50 participating shooters.
The event also could serve those who might consider becoming a cowboy action shooter as vendors will be at the club selling various goods.
Directions to the club are to travel to Camp Springs Road to the Camp Springs Community Center and turn onto CR 1105. The club is approximately a quarter mile north.
