Election Information

Elections

Elections for the City of Snyder are administered by the City Secretary's Office. City elections determine the Mayor and members of the City Council, who each serve two-year terms.

The City Council is composed of four district representatives, two at-large members, and a Mayor. The Mayor is elected at-large, meaning all qualified Snyder voters may participate in these elections.

Upcoming Elections

City elections are held annually in May. Typically, districts 1 through 4 are elected in even years and at-large seats (Mayor and two at-large seats) are elected in odd years, providing continuity in service to the community.

Residents interested in running for office may file during the official candidate filing period. Candidate eligibility requirements, filing instructions, and key election dates are available through the City Secretary’s Office. Candidate packets can be picked up in person at City Hall.

Candidate qualifications are outlined in the City Charter.
